Integrated Library System
| |
The Integrated Library System may be accessed from any computer at http://library.usmc-mccs.org and replaces the card catalog file system. Searches may be limited to just materials available at Iwakuni, or broadened to include all libraries in the Marine Corps Library System.

Borrowing Privileges
| |
The library is open to military personnel, civilian employees, retirees and their family members. JMSDF, MLC, and IHA employees are welcome as well. JMSDF employees are not eligible for Internet use.
One library card per family is maintained on file, and each family member may check out up to eight items. Check out duration varies from one to three weeks, depending on the item. For your convenience, items may be renewed by simply calling the library.
Interlibrary Loan items and books on reserve may not be renewed. To borrow a book from an adjacent library, simply fill out the appropriate form at the front desk at the library and the book will be obtained for you if another library within the system in Japan has it. To place an item on reserve that is currently checked out by another library patron, simply fill out a form at the front desk and you will receive a call from the library staff when the book has been returned. You will have a few days to come check out the book, after which it will be returned to the shelf for others to check out.
Please remember to return your library materials when PCSing.

Overdue Policy
| |
First, second, and third notices are sent to individuals through the sponsor for overdue items. The fourth notice is sent to the sponsor's OIC. Although fines are not charged for overdue materials, no person on the family card may check out materials until the overdue items are returned.
Computer Policy
| |
Computers are available for use to all patrons (two computers offer resume preparation programs). Patrons interested in using the Internet must sign an Internet Use Agreement Card. Printers are attached to some, but not all, of the library's computers.
